not with a boy (there's a reason I'm going to Australia single) but with Milly . One of my favorite dresses on Gossip Girl is by Milly so I looked to see what else is by Milly. Milly was started by Michelle Smith in 2000 and I am seriously in love with her pieces. My favorites (from Neiman Marcus online):
I think it looks better on Blair (without sleeves, with belt). What do you all think??
I don't really like yellow but love this skirt and also saw it in black (though I forgot to bookmark it)

American Eagle
For me, American Eagle is sometimes a "hit or miss" kind of place. This seems to be a "hit" season. The Valentine's gift guide was like a heart/pink and red overload (in a good way). Check it out here
Other hits:
And my nautical favorites:
This is called the "poolside wallet" though it isn't waterproof so might be better as a change purse or ID holder for the beach
Bought these as of 2/5 and they are even cuter on! Perfect for the beach.

to shop or not to shop?
I just got an email from Intuition that I am invited to "Shop with Lauren Conrad." They are having an event next week to premiere her new line at their store. It's free, I can get a goody bag, and I have nothing else to do. My questions: Should I go (would you go?)? and does that mean that LC herself will be there (I admit "The Hills" is my guilty pleasure)?
Paging Dr. House
I thought I would do a post on "House, MD's" two fashionable stars, Dr. Lisa Cuddy and Dr. Allison Cameron since the show is returning with new episodes this week. I loved Dr. Cameron from the start but it took me a little while to warm up to Dr. Cuddy. I could only see her as awful Ben-stealing Lauren from "Felicity" (my favorite show) and/or penis woman from "Ally McBeal."
They seriously have the best outfits ('flirty' tops and skirts for Dr. Cuddy, vests and blouses for Dr. Cameron) though it's hard to find good photos since they usually wear the white doctor coat. Here are my favorites:
This purple/gray combination looked great
This actor is from the city I'm going to in Australia
I love this black top/gray skirt combination

The countdown has (really) begun
This has been playing during all the sets of movie previews I've seen recently and I AM SO EXCITED! The scenery, history, people- I can't wait. When I first saw this commercial I got goosebumps and immediately downloaded the song, "Forever Young" (which starts playing about 35 seconds in and is not the Rod Stewart song). I am planning on traveling to New Zealand for my school break and/or meeting my parents there when I am done with the semester.

Weekend Restaurant reviews
My friend J and I decided that we need to try some new restaurants since we've both lived in LA our whole lives and pretty much eat at the same 4 restaurants (CPK, Island's, BJ's and Cheesecake Factory) all the time.
Last week we tried Ketchup , which we had seen on "The Hills" and in a magazine article on the best new restaurants. The food is diner/comfort food (hot dogs, mac and cheese, hamburgers) that has been made more "upscale." The food has really funny names like Barking Dogs (Kobe beef hot dogs) and Young Chick (grilled chicken breast). For dessert I got an ice cream sandwich that was so good. All meals come with 5 ketchups to try- YUM!
Then this past weekend we went to Il Sole . This restaurant is known for its celeb sightings (why else would we go??) but it also has really good italian food. We got both (Rod Stewart and Selma Blair and delicious pasta).
Unfortunately we will have to wait a while before we try any new places since these were both pretty expensive (though always fun to dress up and go out for a fun dinner).
P.S- Both nights I wore my new J.Crew boots. I am pretty much obsessed with them and am so glad I got them!

Shopaholic much?
No matter where I go, I find something to buy. Good shopper or addicted to shopping?
I went to run errands with my mom yesterday and found:
White Ralph Lauren cable sweater
Pink/burgundy/purplish umbrella (for rainy Melbourne)
Reebok speed jump rope so I can do this workout.

Could Boden get any cuter?
Today my Mini-Boden catalog came and I want to buy all the outfits for my non-existent children. How am I going to survive without my babysitting kids in Australia??
Fortunately the adult Boden clothes are almost as cute. My confession: I always flip through the catalog and look at all the clothes first. Then I read all the quotes/questions and answers with the models.
Here are some of my Spring favorites
I'll take the pillows too
Madewell also had a very cute (cheaper) polka dot cardigan but it sold out way too quickly so I must get this one before it's too late
LOVE this top the best I think

That is so awkward
Saw these tips on yahoo and thought I'd share. Maybe it's just me but I often find myself in awkward situations!
The article, entitled "Easy Ways to Exit Awkward Situations," addresses talking to boring people at parties, escaping Telemarketers, fights with a significant other, etc.
My favorites? "How to Escape a Story Repeater" and "How to Escape an Inebriated Coworker"

When it rains, it pours
Today is just one of those gloomy days. It's dark, dreary, and raining. Plus I just found out that I did not get the internship I wanted. Of course I have other options but this was the one I was dreaming of. My sister recommended I reapply once I have added some more experience to my resume. We'll see.
On a positive note, I have started the Wardrobe Series from Fabulously Broke in the City and it is going quite well.
Here's the situation before (I forgot to take pictures of everything squished in the closet):
(and this is minus the winter stuff (sweaters, etc) I keep in DC!)
I have decided to try to sell/consign some items,
and donate others to Goodwill. I also have a pile of clothing I'm not sure about so my sister is going to be my second opinion on them

RIP Heath Ledger
One of my favorite actors (I still have my "Knight's Tale" poster), Heath Ledger, was found dead today. In 2002 before he was well known, I met Heath and will always remember how kind he was. I was an awkward high school freshman and he made my year! Last year Heath and Michelle Williams moved into my neighborhood while filming in LA. I was away at school but my mom said Heath would walk around with his daughter daily. I'm going to keep his family, especially his daughter, in my thoughts.

Marry me, Ralph
Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 and Resort Collections:
Don't really like these shorts but love the t-shirt and sandals
Is there anything better than a pink striped oxford?
I have always wanted a skirt like this, looks so pretty with that belt
I do need a new swimsuit for Australia...
Because Polo models are the hottest (with J.Crew a close second)
