This Juicy Couture gold anchor necklace is now on sale for under $100. The chain is a little too flashy and long for my taste but if I ever find the smaller version (I've seen it before) I am so getting it!

Recent JCrew purchases
Bought last Saturday (with the huge in store sale going on I had to look!):
Love this shirt. I'm hoping to find it in other colors at the outlet this week
Really like these sandals too. I don't usually like this style (at least on me) but these are super cute in person
I also bought a navy headband with anchors on it and socks with elephants on them.

Oh jetlag
Normally I would save my weekend update for Monday but since I'll be up for at least 2 more hours (it's 12:30 AM) I figure I should just post now.
1. I FINALLY saw SATC! LOVED it. I cried (of course). I am now downloading the soundtrack off itunes.
2. I got the weirdest sunburn from my dad's softball game. I usually don't burn but I think coming from winter to summer so quickly made my skin more sensitive. You can tell exactly where the sun was hitting me: my right arm and upper thighs. Afterward we had lunch at John O'Groats. I had the best grilled cheese I have had in 6 months!
3. I decided I can't resist the 4th of July sales at the Camarillo Outlets so I'm heading over on Thursday (despite the heat and crowds)
4. I start my internship tomorrow. I have no idea what to expect. Hoping I do more than just sit around and file papers!
5. I concluded I must start running again asap. At first I used my jetlag as an excuse but I can't anymore.
6. I emailed the nanny agency I have dreamed of working for. I have been seriously thinking recently about the years(s) between college (I graduate NEXT YEAR!) and grad school. Psych related internship or full time job?? Teaching (like Teach for America type program) or nanny job??
7. Thanks to fellow LA blogger Muffi Martini I picked up anchor note cards from Kate Spade (they are sold out online now!)
8. I went to 2 other restaurants I love on Saturday: Islands (I resisted the cheese fries this time though I had them earlier last week) and Houstons
9. I spent some quality time with my favorite little guys. I brought them back boomerangs (yes, I knew they would break everything in sight) and we tried them out at the park (I insisted we will only be using them in open places like that). Of course one got stuck in the trees so now I have to go back tomorrow and hit it out with something.
Action shot of S jumping off the swing:
Since it was my first weekend back in the states, I decided to post a photo from my first weekend in Australia. Here I am at the immigration museum. The only exciting part was this puppet show.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Stay tuned for my J.Crew sale purchases

Just had to share this with all you SATC and/or Hills fans out there:

Let's go on a shopping trip
I was going to hold out a bit longer but my mom gave me an envelope of cash and told me to go to Target (to get a present for the little boy I babysit for-he's graduating pre-school!). I just couldn't say no to that! I am slightly embarrassed to admit I proceeded to go to 3 Ross stores and Marshalls. Somehow I missed TJ Maxx-next time I guess. Or tonight ;)
I love how other bloggers post photos of their finds so here is what I saw. I purchased only two of these items(I am so proud of myself!):
From Target:
From Ross (aka Ralph Lauren HEAVEN!):
Definitely my favorite RL item: this set has stripes and polka dots :)
Marshalls:
Those are elephants on the Lilly bathing suit!
More Lilly pjs:
What I ended up getting: the white desk organizer and the previous Lilly PJ pants

Wait how is it pronounced??
Photos from my week in Cairns:
Me, T, J and A on our rainforest tour
Butterfly in the Kuranda butterfly sanctuary
Millaa Millaa Falls
Us going through the waterfall(it was FREEZING!)
On our boat to snorkeling (all of the actual snorkeling photos are on the underwater camera that I still need to develop)
Sky diving photos!
Ok so any fat on your face/neck area looks totally freaky when you jump

I realized that this started out as a fashion/shopping blog yet I haven't posted any of that kind of stuff in WEEKS! I think mostly because I've been traveling around and also (probably more importantly) I have been in total debt (life down under is expensive!). Tomorrow I am selling some clothes to that store I mentioned before and I am babysitting this weekend. SO trips to my favorite stores are only a few days away ;)

Sydney highlights
Some photos from my trip to Sydney:
All the street signs had anchors on them!
Anchor in downtown Sydney
The Opera House
The Sydney Harbour bridge
Elephant at the Taronga Zoo
Harbour at night
I am going to be completely honest here: there is no way I am going to catch up on my favorite blogs. When I signed into my googlereader I had over 900 posts to read! If I do end up having spare time, I will read through the older posts.

Back in Melbourne
and packing up my apartment. I will try to upload some of my photos this weekend. I have over 800 blog posts to read this week (I will get to them all when I am jet lagged and not sleeping back in CA!).
Have a great weekend!

From under the water to up in the sky in one day
I am about to leave Cairns and return to Melbourne for my final weekend in Australia.
Here's a quick update: yesterday I snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and then went sky diving! Many photos to come :)

Vacation has officially started!!
My last week and a half in Australia will mostly be spent traveling. Tonight I leave for Sydney. My friend J, from LA (we worked together one summer), decided to come visit so we are meeting up in Sydney. Before I even knew I was coming to Australia my friends A and T (from elementary school) planned to visit their friend AT (who they know from high school) while she is studying in Sydney. So we will all be meeting up in Sydney this weekend. To make things a bit more complicated my friend from here, M, is coming and so is her cousin (who is visiting from the US). Plus I will hopefully get to see W too (a good friend of one of my best friends) who is also studying in Sydney (W-are you reading this?).
Then Monday me, J, A, and T will head north to Cairns, our gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. If you had told me a year ago that I would be snorkeling through the Great Barrier Reef I would have thought you were crazy! Fingers crossed we will be doing something else I NEVER thought I would do: SKYDIVE! As long as the weather is ok (please pray for no rain!) and at least one of my friends wants to go, I will be jumping out of an airplane 14,000 ft above Australia!
Friday J and I will be saying bye to A and T (who will be going back to visit AT in Sydney) and flying back to Melbourne. We will spend the weekend in Melbourne and then leave for LAX Tuesday morning!
I have some posts saved up so I will try to post every few days, depending on internet access.

Pretty in pink
Today, as my reward for submitting my 4 final essays, I went to see What Happens in Vegas (yes, it is still out in Australia!). It wasn't award winning or anything but I think Ashton Kutcher is hot so it was the perfect afternoon escape :)
I LOVED Cameron Diaz's outfits. Lots of cute dresses and skirts. My favorite was this Diane von Furstenberg (at least I think it is) pink dress:
Looked a lot like this dress from J.Crew (with the line across the chest- blanking on the term):
Also liked these outfits:
This Phillip Lim jacket was so cute!:

Can you put this in my backyard, please?
Part of the Scienceworks Museum interactive play area (BTW, the Yarra is the river here in Melbourne)
Warning: Photo Overload!
Today is a pretty depressing day: my friends are starting to leave :(
So here's to some amazing friends! (Sorry couldn't choose just a few so thought a collage would be best-just click on it to make it bigger)
