Every building/dorm I have lived in switches over to heat way too early. As soon as it gets "cooler" they turn off the AC and switch on the heat. Well there is ALWAYS a mini heat wave after this. Case in point: the next 5 days have highs in the high 70s with Monday calling for a high of 83. Fortunately I can open the windows to cool off.
I am off to take my midterm now. Yuck. As soon as I get home=plopping on the couch and not moving until I babysit tomorrow night.
DC girls-the TJ Maxx I went to was the Friendship Heights one
I feel the same way about the heat/AC situation. I was actually really ticked off in May because it was SO HOT but our AC wasn't turned on yet! They shouldn't turn it on according a date! Especially with our current crazy weather situations! Not cool! Good luck with this week with the heat... I'm in Silver Spring and I feel the same way! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy dorm did that in college too - it was so annoying! Good luck on your midterm.
ReplyDeletegood luck!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, I remember that heat issue in college too. Unfortunately the phenomenon will continue when you enter the work force! Happy belated birthday :)
ReplyDeleteI used to have the same problem, but since we used steam heat even in December we were boiling in our room so we had to keep the window open at all times!
ReplyDeleteUh, that used to really bother me too! I figured out how to turn off the heat in my room in college, but I had to suffer in boarding school.
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean, they turned our heat on two weeks ago! And now it's in the mid seventies, awful!
ReplyDeleteWell, I've never had a building switch to heat in Texas! Good luck on your midterm!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck on your midterms. I feel the same way about the heat situation but I didn't escape it after college. When I started teaching, they did the same thing with the classrooms.
ReplyDeleteOOH thank you ! THAT IS THE ONE i GO TO!! WE NEED TO MEET THERE ONE DAY !! XO
ReplyDeletei remember this about college. i was always sick because it was SO hot in louisiana in november, but it was "fall" so they turned it to heat. miserable! i hope it cools off for you soon.
ReplyDeleteUgh, Georgia Tech did that every year. I was thrilled when I lived in an on-campus apartment and could control my own temperature.... although the thermostat wars that ensued were not that fun...
ReplyDeleteThat sucks =( I wish the heat waves in So Cal were in the 80s right now...it's been in the low 100s where I live =/
