Friday:
Went to see Shutter Island. I thought it was a horror movie/something I wouldn't want to see so I let my dad tell me the twist (don't worry I won't spoil it!). Since it is actually more of a psychological thriller I decided to check it out. I was glad I knew the twist before I saw it. But I am the type of person that usually reads TV spoilers and flips to the back of a book ;) For dinner we went to El Sombrero in Manhattan Beach. Seriously one of the best quesadillas I have ever had!
Saturday:
Went to brunch at Cafe Montana with some relatives who were in town. I thought about popping into Cabana but it was pouring and I was wearing flip flops and no outer layer (weather.com said 30% chance of rain so I stupidly risked it). Next we headed to Brentwood Country Mart. I will be featuring a favorite store from there later this week.
Saturday night was amazing. I know there are a few LOST fans out there reading. I went to the LOST panel that was part of this year's PaleyFest. The actors who play Locke, Ben, and Richard, along with the creative team (writers and producers), were all there in person. There are great recaps HERE and HERE. I thought Ter*ry O'Quinn (Locke) and Michael Eme*rson (Ben) were really funny together. I hope the rumor of them reuniting on a new show is true! Here are some photos I took:

Sunday:
I finally went through the huge box of paperwork, cards/letters, and photos that has been sitting in my hallway for months. I am not a procrastinator when it comes to schoolwork but I will always put off things like this (I STILL haven't started my Australia scrapbook!). As a reward I went to Yogurtland YUM!

What's on my bulletin board
I thought it would be fun to show my favorite wall decorations: my bulletin boards! Click on the photos to make them bigger.
Board 1:
Doesn't really change much (hasn't changed since I added a graduation card in May). I've kept it the same for awhile now and I probably won't change it very often. I put star wrapping paper over the cork as a background. Highlights include: collection of elephant photos, a picture of JT dancing (top left), a bunch of random what your name means type cards (my favorite is in the bottom left corner), the collage M made me for my 22nd birthday (behind my polka dot necklace holder)
Board 2:
This is my Vera Bradley memo board (thanks TJ Maxx!). The photos don't really change but the cards and letters change every few weeks.
I hang a ribbon above my desk and attach seasonal cards. Here are some of my valentines:

New York trip recap
FRIDAY:
Slept in because our plane had been delayed on Thursday and we got in pretty late at night. We had a quick (late) lunch at our hotel and headed to Lilly Pulitzer. I bought this pink polo and some stationery and cups in the Later Gator pattern.
Then we headed to afternoon tea at Alice's Tea Cup. I went there on my last trip and wanted to take my mom (she loved it of course!). After tea my sister finally arrived from DC (so glad she made it out!). We went to dinner at Toloache, which was just a quick walk from our hotel (in the freezing COLD) ;)
SATURDAY:
We got up bright and early for our day of shopping in SoHo. First stop: Uniqlo. I was sad they didn't have my favorite jeans anymore but I did get some new cords for under $10! We also checked out Kate's Paperie, A.P.C, and Calypso (to name a few).
Hearts painted on the sidewalk for Vday:
LOVE:
We ate lunch at Balthazar where I had delicious macaroni and cheese.
Dinner was at Cascina which was super close to the theater where we saw Hair after.
SUNDAY:
We picked up breakfast to go from Amy's Bread and sat in Central Park, across from the Frick Collection (we wanted to be there right when it opened!). The park looked so pretty with the snow!
I loved the Frick Collection-the perfect size. I had studied many of the pieces in my art history class so it was exciting to see them in person. Next we headed to Bendel's and Bergdorf Goodman. I love to just browse these huge stores!
My sister and mom went to the ballet (Swan Lake) but I didn't go (long story short I wasn't sure I was going on the trip so they only got 2 tickets). I took a LONG walk around Penn Station (I was picking up my sister's train ticket) and found the Filene's Basement that JGIWC recommended. I found a Vineyard Vines anchor skirt for $10!
For our Valentine's Day dinner we went to Nougatine at Jean Georges. I wish I had taken a photo of the pink marshmallows-they were so good! This is the only photo I took (the first part of our dessert):
(heart shaped of course)

I love my...
Catbird NYC alphabet studs! I have "K" and "H" (they come in silver and gold). I get so many compliments on them. I am thinking of ordering another "K" so I can have Ks for both ears.

Back from New York!
I am back from New York and so not ready to go to work tomorrow. I am exhausted! I am not one of those people who can sleep on the plane so I am ready for bed!
I thought it would be fun to do a question and answer post, especially since I haven't been blogging about my daily life recently (and I am too lazy to do a New York recap right now). So ask away! Comment with your questions and I will put up answers next week.

Old Navy baby clothing
I am in love with the elephant (pink and green) and giraffe (pink and brown) prints at Old Navy! Of course they make you walk through the baby section to get to the dressing rooms. Who can resist such cuteness??
Elephants + hearts= adorable:
