Hi there! I'm Glamorous Newlywed - obviously that's not my real name... but it is on the internet! I'm not always glamorous, nor am I a newlywed anymore (unless you're still considered a newlywed after 3 years of marriage?) but hey, a girl can dream, right?
My blog is mostly about what to wear... to any occasion you can come up with!!! I started helping people solve their wardrobe crisis about a year ago, by creating cute, occasion-appropriate, and (mostly) budget friendly outfits for every occasion you could dream of, and what I used to do once in a while is now a once (or twice) a day occurrence. My husband LOVES this, because I'm so busy making outfits for other people, I don't have time to shop for myself anymore :)
When I'm not blathering on about clothes, you'll occasionally find posts on Glamorous Newlywed about cooking (my form of stress release), misadventures in motherhood, and my undying love for anything leopard print...
Because it's pretty much all I'm good at, I jumped at the chance to come up with some outfits for Miss Nautical by Nature... with a nautical twist, of course!
Many thanks to Kate for letting me do this little guest post on her blog, I've been a longtime reader of Nautical by Nature and am so pleased to get to contribute!
If you find yourself in need of outfit inspiration (nautically-inspired or otherwise), please don't hesitate to head over to Glamorous Newlywed and let me know :)

Nautical Interior Design: Guest Blog by Shelli @ A'La Mode
Hi Ya'll!
I randomly ran across Nautical By Nature last week and instantly thought, um, where have you been all of my blogging life (oh, which is only 4 months by the way, ha)??? Needless to say, I was smitten!
My name is Shelli and I have a lifestyle blog with an emphasis on interior design, a' la mode. I've recently been thinking of adding a few nautical touches to my screened in porch and I thought I would share it with you!
Let's look for some pillows. Nautical chic, here we come!
A couple of these made from recycled sailcloth should do the trick! Dream big, right?
What about a few of these fun anchor coasters for my tables?
Oh, me likey this little bad boy
Now, THIS is a fabulous look from Thomas Paul- lovin' the melamine platter!
To take it a step further, I think I would put my little baby girl in this cute dress from Rikshaw Designs
oh, and I'll wear this
and these
Oh, and lets pretend the view is THIS:
Whew! I think we're done here.
Thanks for having me today!
Come visit me at a' la mode
xoxo, Shelli

Summer Essentials: Guest Blog Post by Carolina Nutshell
Hey everyone! My name is Miranda and I'm so happy to be guest blogging while Kate's out of town. Normally you can find me over at Carolina Nutshell. A lot of people are curious about my blog title, it's real simple actually! I have the most random posts that pertain to anything going on in my life at that moment. Whether it be fashion, food, friends, or family, I talk about everything in a nutshell, but being the proud daughter of the great state of South Carolina, y'all know I had to throw Carolina in there somewhere! When I'm not blogging, I'm working as an Office Director in a golf course community, spending time with my sweet daughter who I call "Buggy" and my sweet husband, scouting out the best deal for those cute pumps or chic blouse, or laying around on a beach somewhere. I'm a huge beach lover, anything salt water to be exact, that's why I was so thrilled to guest blog at Nautical by Nature. Here are the items that are "must-haves" this summer!
Sperry Top Sider Bluefish 2-Eye Boat Shoe in Linen/Pink Plaid:
Marley Lilly Monogrammed Derby Hat:

I hope you enjoyed my guest post and our lovely Kate will be back before we know it. Kate try not to be too Naughtical while you're out of town :-) and remember most anything in life can be cured by Salt Water: sweat, tears or the ocean!
Make sure y'all stop by and visit Carolina Nutshell!

Nautical Makeup: Guest Blog Post by Wayfarers and Worksheets
I am so excited to be guest blogging for the oh-so-preppy-and-fabulous Nautical by Nature while she is on vacation. You can usually see my nonsense on my blog Wayfarers and Worksheets
As a self proclaimed “New England transplant faking it until I make it in the city of angels." I spent my formative years with a deep love for blue and white stripes, anchors, gingham, Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley. And while a 3,000 mile, transcontinental move can take the girl out of the nautical sea breeze, it can’t take the nautical out of the girl. And while I may be outwardly less preppy then I may have been when I got here (read, I showed up in Los Angeles in white shorts and a light pink polo shirt), I have been able to keep a lot of nautical close to me where it really counts…in my makeup bag!
Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Mascara:
Tarte Glam Gams Bronzer:
OPI Sand in My Suit:
Banila Co kiss collector lipstick in tequila sunrise:

Nautical Outfit of the Week: JCW
This week I'm featuring a photo of JCW, boyfriend of EAS of Let The Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore
JCW's birthday was earlier this month and I just loved the quote that EAS posted for JCW:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
-Mark Twain

How to make the perfect nautical outfit!
I found some really cute dresses at Ann Taylor Loft (find dress 1 here , dress 2 here and dress 3 here).
I couldn't find Dress 2 in white on polyvore (and couldn't figure out how to import it) but I think the white is slightly more nautical so just imagine it in white in the polyvore set:
With just a few accessories you can have the perfect nautical summer outfit! I would add nautical shoes and jewelry to all 3 dresses. I would add a nautical belt to the first dress (it doesn't come with a belt, just shown with one). A belt might work on dress 3 too, hard to tell from the photo. You could also add a nautical scarf to any of the dresses. I found a really cute scarf at Anthropologie that comes in three nautical designs (sailboats, whale, nautical flags). It is a bit pricey but would be a great investment piece for spring and summer. I included 4 different pairs of shoes, including some from Payless that are under $20!
Love this Urban Outfitters belt but it won't import into polyvore:
The forever 21 bracelets have anchors on them. I think the red and blue would look best with these outfits. The Anthro belts are sailboat, whale, and shell.

Top 10 in My Closet
Katie of Let's Be Preppy! did a really fun post a few months ago (see her post here) and I just had to do my own. It is SO hard to narrow down a whole closet to just 10 things! I decided to just include clothing and shoes. And looking at my list now I feel like I've left a few things off that I really love! But these were the first things I picked out so that's what I'm going with.
These are the basics that I think every girl should have in her closet (little black dress, white top, favorite jeans, etc)! I can make multiple outfits out of these items and that was my goal!
1. Truly Madly Deeply Nautical Pullover (sweater/sweatshirt). I wear this as a top. I have it in anchors and sailboats. I usually pair it with jeans. Soldout online but I've seen some in the sale racks at Urban Outfitters.
2. Old Navy Crochet Mock-Neck Top (I have this in white and black). I usually wear this with jeans and a black cardigan. When I worked in an office, I wore this with nice black pants.
3. Vineyard Vines Sandy Dollar Top. I usually wear this with jeans or black pants (like lululemon pants) and my gold and pink Kate Spade cardigan. This is my official going out top.
4. Kate Spade flats. My so called fancy shoes. I rarely wear heels so I need a nice pair of ballet flats. I wore these to my sister's wedding. Can be dressed up with a dress or dressed down with jeans.
5. Gap Always Skinny jeans. You MUST have a pair of jeans that you love. If you find a pair that you love, BUY MULTIPLE!
6. J.Crew sandals. I have these in gold and black. I wear them ALL THE TIME! With dresses or jeans or even the critter shorts (#7).
7. J.Crew critter shorts. I have multiple pairs but the anchor ones are my favorite!
8. Black cardigan. My favorite is one I got at Zara. I wish I had bought another one. I love the fit and it is so comfortable. I pair it with the white top (#2) and jeans (#5) or dress (#10).
9. J.Crew riding boots. I love these. Bought them on sale years ago. I pair them with jeans (#5) and nautical top (#1) for a casual daytime look. Or with my black dress (#10) for a night out (yes, I mix black and brown!)
10. Old Navy black dress. Every girl needs a little black dress. I found this one at Old Navy and it has been my go to dress for years. I wear it A LOT! Wish I had bought a spare.
5 Outfit combinations:
I would love to see your top 10! Either leave a comment or do your own post!

3 years ago... Sky Diving!
Three years ago I jumped out of an airplane in Cairns, (Queensland) Australia. Yes, you read that correctly!
If you know me at all (even just reading this blog) you can probably tell I'm not a risk taker. I never really rebelled (you're welcome, mom and dad) and rarely do anything crazy (I would say never but I guess that depends on your definition of crazy).
I still can't believe I did it. Without the DVD, I doubt my family and friends would even believe me!!! It was so out of character that I did it AND I wasn't even afraid (I was actually more afraid to snorkel the morning before). I convinced two friends to go with me. I was the first to jump. There are no words to describe what it is like free falling from thousands of feet in the air!

Think of this post as a reminder to (occasionally) do something crazy and out of character! You never know how it will change your life for the better! On days when I am feeling down I just look at one of these photos and instantly feel happy!
