My Sister's Baby Shower

My sister's baby shower was this past weekend at the Napa Valley Grille. I loved how the room was above the main dining area, allowing the room to be filled with natural light while also being private. My stepmom did all of the decorations and I think she did such a great job. We went with an animal theme to match the Dwell animal invitation from Tiny Prints that my sister's best friend picked out (which also matches the nursery!)

Balloons and animal topiaries:

My favorites: pig and hippo

Pompoms and "it's a boy" elephant banner

Centerpieces: my stepmom sewed the tulle that's around the flowers, then added ribbon and pinned on an animal finger puppet. So cute!

It was my idea to use the Little Gorilla book as a guest book. H's cousins/family gave him a copy when he was born and I loved that they all signed it. I thought it was perfect for the animal theme baby shower!

Table with guest book (and swan topiary)

Cupcakes with bunny topiary

View of the table (with elephant favor boxes, bowls of animal crackers, and personalized Hershey Kisses)

Wooden animal pull toys in the center

Advice cards/well wishes for the guests to fill out

The details:
Animal Topiaries
Elephant 'it's a boy' banner
Elephant favor boxes
Animal soaps as favors (inside the elephant boxes)
Cupcake toppers
Elephant advice cards
Elephant and giraffe napkins
Cupcakes
Pompoms these were really time consuming to "poof"-I recommend trying to find ones that are easier to fluff (if that's a possibility?)
Hershey Kisses with elephant stickers on bottom
Wooden animals: Manny and Simon push toys
I made the signs for cupcakes, gifts, guest book using the same Dwell animals from the invitation (though different arrangement of animals)
Little Gorilla book

Nautical Baby Showers

My sister's baby shower is this weekend. She's not having a nautical theme but that didn't stop me from browsing nautical baby shower ideas on Pinterest. I know quite a few of my readers have had nautical baby showers (see Fried Pink Tomato's shower here) or are planning nautical showers.

I had a hard time finding photos from actual nautical GIRL showers but I did find some cute printables/paper products you could use (or you could use the above as inspiration and change the colors):

Did you have a nautical baby shower? Have you been to one? Let's see your photos! Email me at nauticalbynature@gmail.com

Mini Boden has done it once again! Adorable nautical choices for your little ones. I just wish they were all available in bigger sizes!

Anchor sweater (why can't they make this for women?!):

Striped top with mini anchors in a big anchor-umm again, why isn't this in bigger sizes?

Anchor baby boarders:

Girls swimsuit:

Girls shorts (culotte style):

I just love the polkadots too!

Pyjamas:

Boys swim trunks:

Pull on trousers (I think these are PJ pants? The girl shown in the photo is sitting outside so wear them wherever!):

Towelling throw on (I want this for post-swim/beach!):

Music!

Months ago Amy at Forever29 posted her top 20 songs and asked her readers to share their favorites too. There is no way I can narrow mine down to just 20 or rank them in order (that's even more difficult). Instead I went into my Itunes and found the 20 most recently played. These are definitely favorites that I can listen to over and over.
Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun
