Charleston: Guest Post by Honor Courage Commitment

Hi Nautical by Nature readers! My name is Kelly and I blog over at Honor Courage Commitment.

Since Kate had to go out of town, she asked me if I wouldn't mind to write a guest post for her. I jumped at the chance because I just love her blog and all the great nautical things that she posts about. My Pinterest boards are loaded with many of her great finds.

While I just love everything nautical, my blog is more of a lifestyle blog where I mostly write about life in Charleston, SC and living with my boyfriend, S, and our GSP, Gunner. S is a real-life sailor in the US Navy and I work full-time downtown. In our free time, we LOVE taking advantage of all the things that Charleston has to offer. Here are some of our favorite things to do around town and some of my favorite memories thus far!

Attending the Annual Oyster Festival at Boone Hall Plantation every January and eating LOTS of oysters!

Sailing and boating on nearby Lake Moultrie..

Hiking in the not-too-faraway Blue Ridge Mountains..

Taking advantage of our beautiful beaches! Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and Kiawah Island...

Visiting any of the magnificent plantations in the Charleston area such as Magnolia Plantation, Middleton Place, or Drayton Hall...

Enjoying all the pretty sights in Waterfront Park and downtown Charleston....

In addition to all of those wonderful things, we have attended two Navy balls while here in Charleston (2012 and 2013), attended a Christmas party that was held at the SC Aquarium (soo cool!), floated down the Edisto River on an air mattress, attended the PGA Championship at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, and ran the Color Me Rad 5k.

I think it's safe to say that there is never a lack of fun to be had around here. Hope you all enjoyed a little peek inside of life here in the South!
