Remember Courtney from
Southern Nest, the wooden monogram store
I posted about recently? Well Courtney created the perfect nautical space for her son after he recently transitioned out of his crib and into a bed. Courtney blogs over at
Charming Little Nest. There are so many individual projects that went into the room-Courtney will be giving more details over the next few weeks on
her blog. First up, the
Chippy bookshelf that she restored (to see the step by step go to her blog).
Courtney painted crisp navy and white stripes on the top half of the walls. Then she put board and batten in his room (HERSELF!) |
old pub table she turned into a child-size table and then painted to look like a distressed Union Jack |
She painted the dresser yellow, then added navy and white stripes to the top. Next she distressed it with a little sanding and dark wax |
Pottery Barn Kids sailboat mobile above the bed |
Tiny sailboats are propped on the board and batten shel |
Of course she added a Southern Nest monogram above the book shelf |
And a tiny monogram on the side of the book shelf |
back of a pew from a very old local church is now a bow tie holder |
Such a cute room!!

What a clever designer she is!! I just love the whole room. I love the nautical mantra as it just does something for me..maybe it relaxes me :) This room does just that! I'm obsessing over the bow tie holder!
