Summer Movies: Guest Post by Easily Entertained

Hi Nautical fans! I'm Christina from Easily Entertained where I talk about celebs, books, movies, TV shows, music, musicals and concerts. Basically anything that entertains me.

I'm so excited that Kate asked me to guest post! We have a lot in common, but I think the first thing we noticed was our mutual love of movies. I'm jealous that she sees way more than I do. I seem to only catch two or three a month, but I can also be seen picking up DVDs at Redbox, streaming movies on Netflix, and renting pre-theatrical releases from Amazon and iTunes (those are my favorite. You don't even have to get out of your pjs!). I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly and I'm constantly looking things up on IMDB, but I think JoBlo is my favorite place to go for movie news. Although summer doesn't start for six weeks, May kicks off summer movie season and Iron Man 3 did not disappoint this weekend. Check out what else you can see over the next few months:

MAY

The Great Gatsby
I'm not a huge fan of the book, but Baz Lurhmann + Craig Pearce + Leo = I'm a HUGE fan of the movie already.

Star Trek Into Darkness
I was never into this franchise, but 2009's Star Trek converted me. Or maybe it was just Chris Pine...

Now You See Me
The cast is great and the heist makes this movie about magic so much more interesting.

After Earth
Why doesn't Will Smith Age? This movie looks good. I'm an M. Knight Shyamalan fan.

Also Playing in May: The Iceman, Generation Um..., Peeples, Aftershock,
Black Rock, Erased, The English Teacher, Epic, The Hangover III,
Fast & Furious 6, Before Midnight, The Kings of Summer

JUNE

The Internship
These two are a very, very funny pair. I'd probably see anything they're in. Plus, Google is cool.

Bling Ring
I've been waiting for this movie since I heard it was being made. I'm such a sucker for celeb gossip.

World War Z
This looks like the coolest zombie movie ever, even if it's not at all based on the book.

White House Down
I'll probably get high blood pressure while watching this, but it looks really good.

The Heat
Two of my favorite ladies!

Also playing in June: The Purge, Much Ado About Nothing,
This is the End, Man of Steel, Monsters University, Byzantium

JULY

The Lone Ranger
Don't kill me, but I want to see this for Armie Hammer, not Johnny Depp.

The Way, Way Back
I love the cast! I always need to see some heartwarming independent movies in the summer.

R.I.P.D.
This looks pretty funny. Plus, Ryan Reynolds.

The Wolverine
I'm a sucker for X-Men movies.

Also playing in July: Despicable Me 2, Pacific Rim, Grown Ups 2, V/H/S 2,
Red 2, Turbo, The Conjuring, Girl Most Likely, Blue Jasmine, The Smurfs 2

There are so many good movies coming out! Of course we'll see tons of action blockbusters, but there's also a good mix of comedies, independent dramas, family films, and even some horror movies. There's basically one movie every weekend this summer that I can't wait to see.

What are you looking forward to?

  3. Pretty much I want to see all the movies you mentioned. Especially Gatsby (tonight!) and World War Z. I still love me some Brad Pitt.
