Last year my family took the same trip (
post here) to spend a few days in Palm Springs after Christmas. We stayed at
La Quinta again and it is such a beautiful place. I was still coughing but finally feeling better. I was just happy to get some fresh air!
It was a bit warmer this year so we got some pool time in!

The highlight of the trip is going to dinner at
Matchbox. I used to eat at the DC location with both of my sisters back when we lived there so it is a must stop when in Palm Springs. The restaurants at the resort have great food too. Mexican food outside at
Adobe Grill and breakfast at
Twenty6.
This trip we just relaxed, hit the pool, and watched Baby Nautical run around. On New Year's Eve we had a game night and ordered pizza. It was the perfect way to start off the new year!
my boyfriend and i ate at matchbox last time we were in palm springs too! SO GOOD! looks like a great trip!
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about the little pepperonis they use!
DeleteAw, I miss the DC Matchbox! I once had dinner there with Jessie Baylin (before she married the drummer from Kings of Leon.)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! You always have the music connections!
DeleteFun! I hope I can get out to Palm Springs this year, I'd love to explore more! Glad you had a great trip :)
ReplyDeleteI recommend going in the spring when it's a little warmer but not super hot!
DeletePlanning my trip to Palm Springs so this is good info!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have to go to Matchbox! It's worth the drive. I recommend making a reservation on Open Table if you can. The Mexican restaurant at La Quinta is also delicious and has a great outdoor seating area.
DeleteI heard there is a great zoo for the kids but I have never been.
My wife and I were just in La Quinta for Christmas. We've been going every Christmas for years to visit my mother who lives there. We'll have to put Matchbox on the list for next year.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance next time for some more dining out, look at Morgan's in the Desert, it's one of our favourites.
I don't think there are many photos of Palm Springs on our Christmas post, but here's our route to Palm Springs: http://loveandrum.com/blog/2015/1/5/californian-christmas-on-the-road
I have heard of Morgan's but I have never been! We decided to skip going to Palm Springs this year because it has been a bit too cold and my sister and brother in law went on a kid free trip for their anniversary.
DeleteI will check out your post. Thank you for stopping by!
